Hi everyone,

I have posted this in the New Products forum over gs. I figure it is just as relevant here.. if not more so! ;)

I have recently added a few new items to my classicapi (http://www.classicapi.com) store. They are for the popular 500 series rack set-ups. The main basis for these parts is for users to complete our GroupDIY 51x rack project.

The blank plates are of course compatible with any 500 series rack featuring the standard 1.5? width, 5.25? height and a thickness of .125?. The plates are made from the hard and durable 6061-T6 aluminum and have the proper #4 countersunk module screw holes. I have two variations of the plates in stock. The 51x-B-B is a matte black powdercoated plate and the 51x-B-R is a vibratory polished raw plate. The idea behind the raw is for prototyping modules or a user supplied custom paint job. Flames, pin stripping?you get the idea! Blank plates are made in the USA.

The matte black plates (http://classicapi.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_87_88&products_id=152) start at $8.50 each while the raw ones (http://classicapi.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_87_88&products_id=151) start at $7.00 each. Quantity discounts are available and shown on the store product listings.

Next are the hard to find 500 series module mounting screws. They have an oval head, #1 phillips drive, #4-40 thread, 3/8? length and a black oxide finish. I have them in 25pc packages. This 25pc package is what we supply with each GroupDIY 51x rack kit. The #4-40 thread is the same as found on an authentic API? 500VPR racks. If you have a rack manufactured by anyone other than API? or the GroupDIY 51x Alliance, you will have to verify the #4-40 thread. I?m quite certain BAE and Purple are the same?the rest I don?t know.

The 25pc packages (http://classicapi.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_87_88&products_id=153) start at $1.50 each, with quantity discounts available and shown on the product listing.

Yes, screws can be sexy!
