i not going to say much as that would spoil my review, plus i lack the well needed help i get from my editor: )~
having spent a great deal of time running some vocal through the V14s today i have to say, i love-em.
they are not going to bring any real MOJO to the table, but for more surgical work, they do hit the spot.
the knobs are a bit of a pain, i could see that cause some grief for some, but with a bit of attention, just not a issue at all, at least not for me.
if you are in need of a eq for some board sculpting or just surgical work, this will get the job done, and it dose so very nicely!
just so you know, i just sent my ARSENAL AUDIO contact a email, and told him i plan to be keeping this pair myself!!!!!!!
ouch anther hit on my credit card : (~
guys, and / or gals, you really need to audition this EQ!

let me add.
their is a bit of vibe, but more of what i would expect, from a somewhat transparent console.
you really do not notice them being in the loop, they just do their job.
i do not see it replacing the 550 or my EM-PEQs, but the V14s are going to be keepers for me.
the knobs will raise some complaints, but i can work with them,not a issue for me.
i am oh so stoke stoke about these.
these are not going to be the most efficient EQs for surgical work, but they will be effective, with good tracks.
these will be great work horse, EQs.
i still need to play with them some more, but i am loving these babies!

How do these compare to the S&M EQ? I know the topologies are totally different but the controls on both cover a lot of ground and they're priced about the same.

the S&M AUDIO EQSM1 brings more of a vibe to the table, i like it more as a effect then a EQ, and that is not a bad thing.
the S&M EQSM1 is going for a sound.
the ARSENAL AUDIO V14 is very neutral, you would not really notice it was in the loop, as well, it is very smooth clear, at all boost, or all cut, it is smooth.

alert :eek::eek::eek:
Anyone looking at getting any of the ARSENAL AUDIO by API gear might want to go ahead and make the decision!
The rumor through the grape vine, is that there is a lawsuit in-progress that might result in the end of the name ARSENAL AUDIO.
Now, I am pretty sure API won?t abandon the product line, but this leads me to believe the gear labeled as ARSENAL AUDIO by API will be come VERY collectible.
get em while you can!
