here is a note i got from Larry today of API.
yes he said i could quote him, and a big thank you for such a prompte reply: )~
Pan,
The piece you want to reference is called the Rack Pack 500, being introduced at Musikmesse in Germany this week.
You have to go here to see the press release;
http://www.spl.info/
The SPL Rack Pack is NOT a 500 rack!! It is quite different. We have worked with them to help make an ADAPTOR that fits into their Rack Pack that has spaces for 4 500 series pieces.
The adaptor chassis internally connects to the SPL backplane (which is much deeper) in order to connect the I/O and power. Therefore you can ONLY fit 4 pieces of 500 Series in this system. Think of it as a 4-space VPR rack that fits into another rack that is a different size.
That?s the skinny.

Holy Cow Pan, now that's cool, and some innovative thinking being able to combine modules! I love my SPL monitor controller.

from the press release:
Project manager Hermann Gier: ?Our focus on the RackPack system has always been the modular idea, not a proprietary platform.
why don't they have any specs for developers ?
